Title of Position: Material Handler

Position Type: Full-Time

Location: Romulus, MI

Founded in 2016, Tube Supply provides quality steel tube and bar in alloy, stainless, and carbon for oil and gas applications, including drilling, completions, production, and downhole tools.  Our steel tubular and bar products are tailored specifically to meet the demands of the oil and gas industry, including high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) and sour (H2S) well environments. Tube Supply clients are leading oil and gas service companies, OEMs, and manufacturing centers globally.

Material Handling & Packaging

• Locate steel wire and rod coils for shipment based on production schedules and shipping requirements.
  Package steel coils using steel strapping or nylon strapping in accordance with customer specifications
  and internal procedures.
• Secure coils to prevent damage during handling, storage, and transportation.
• Stage finished product in designated areas for shipment.

Inventory & Material Flow

• Pull orders from inventory and deliver materials and supplies to production areas as needed.
• Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies.
• Identify, label, and record inventory locations accurately.
• Report inventory shortages, discrepancies, or damaged material to supervision.

Equipment, Operation & Maintenance

• Safely operate forklifts (Hi-Lo) to move materials, coils, and supplies.
• Perform pre-use inspections of material-handling equipment.
• Report on equipment issues or unsafe conditions immediately.

Housekeeping & General Labor

• Maintain clean, orderly, and safe work areas.
• Support general labor activities as required to maintain efficient operations.
• Contribute to the orderly operation Of stock and material storage areas.

Safety & Quality

• Adhere to all workplace safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe-work practices.
• Follow quality guidelines and customer requirements related to packaging and material handling.
• Immediately report safety hazards, near misses, or quality concerns.

• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to maintain neat and accurate records.
• Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift.
• Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds.
• Willingness to work overtime as required.
• Demonstrated reliability and good attendance.
• High SCh001 Diploma or GED.
• Experience in steel manufacturing or material handling.
• Previous experience packaging steel wire or rod coils.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive tasks tor extended periods.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in an industrial environment with moving equipment and materials.
