The Production Supervisor will manage and optimize production processes across burning, saw, and tube laser operations. Key responsibilities include ensuring machine efficiency, coordinating with the scheduling department, maintaining quality and inventory control, and implementing QA/QC standards. This role involves overseeing scrap control, managing costs, maintaining warehouse equipment, and optimizing warehouse layout. The Production Supervisor will also develop standard operating procedures and interact with customers, vendors, and service providers to support company operations and goals.

Compensation: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour

Responsibilities

  • Optimize Machine Efficiency: Ensure equipment operators run machines efficiently across all departments, including burning operations, saw operations, and tube laser operations. Collaborate and/or manage the scheduling department and programmers to execute production orders effectively on all shifts.
  • Ensure Quality and Inventory Control: Maintain production quality and control inventory by coordinating and enforcing departmental programs, operational work instructions, and procedures.
  • Manage Scrap and Inventory Accuracy: Oversee physical cycle counts, control scrap, and reconcile inventory levels with perpetual records to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Implement QA/QC Standards: Develop or adhere to quality assurance and quality control standards to meet customer satisfaction and maintain high-quality production standards.
  • Control Costs and Scheduling: Analyze variances to minimize costs, overtime, and scheduling expenditures. Implement financial checks and balances to optimize budget adherence.
  • Maintain Equipment and Warehouse Efficiency: Perform routine inspections and repairs on in-house machinery, and review warehouse layout regularly to ensure a safe, efficient, and customer-focused operation.
  • Optimize Warehouse Layout: Organize and maintain an efficient flow of the warehouse layout to enhance operational effectiveness.
  • Develop SOPs: Create or maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for each production department to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Interact with Stakeholders: Engage with customers, vendors, and service providers to address needs and concerns in the best interest of the company.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Oversee safety and ensure the timely turnaround of schedules via using equipment and managing the operations colleagues
  • Ensure colleague and personal safety by managing movements in the warehouse.
  • Recruit, orient, plan, and train staff, and monitor and address employee performance.
  • Enforce and ensure compliance with all established Triple S Steel policies, including Quality, Security, Safety, Health, Environmental, Attendance, and other relevant policies.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 10 years steel production environment experience
  • Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience
  • Excellent Verbal communication skills are a must.
  • Solid Computer, MS OFFICE Skills are a must.
  • Strong Organization skills, and follow up skills are very practical.
