Overview

We are seeking a skilled Crane Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, with specific expertise in the design, installation, and maintenance of crane systems. The Crane Engineer will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of crane projects. This includes conducting site surveys and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct site surveys to assess project requirements and constraints.
  • Develop engineering specifications for design of crane systems, including structural components, electrical systems, and controls.
  • Prepare project proposals, including cost estimates and timelines.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely project completion.
  • Coordinate with local contractors and regulatory agencies during installation of crane systems.
  • Oversee installation and commissioning of crane systems.
  • Conduct performance tests and inspections to ensure compliance with specifications and safety standards.
  • Provide technical support to branch Operations Teams
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in crane technology

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in crane engineering
  • Strong knowledge of structural design principles and relevant codes and standards (e.g., OSHA 1910.179, ASME B30.2)
  • Experience with 3D scanning/surveying/modeling of crane systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites up to 70% travel.
