The Quality Control Tech will support the Quality department in monitoring material traceability and the reception of material from the mill.  In this position, you will also work with the Receiving staff to assure material that is being received into inventory meets standards set forth by the Quality department.  This indidividual will communicate with the mills and with our internal teams to ensure that all parties are aware of the status of our material.

• Maintain our operational compliance with Industry and Company standards.
• Work with Warehouse Plant Manager to achieve warehouse goals.
• Back up warehouse Supervisors, Production and Admin departments.
• Verify that mill test reports are to the required standard / specification promptly after receipt of material.
• Assist in Inventory control.
• Investigate nonconformance quality issues and perform corrective actions to ensure the issue is resolved.
• Communicate with sales and or the customer when needed on quality issues.
• Review customer requirements to verify compliance can be achieved.
• Train new / current employees on our Cert System.
• Be final quality check for all heat numbers and certs.
• 100% accuracy with matching Heat Numbers on our material to the Mill Certs.
• Zero missed Mill Certs invoicing and with delivery.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree preferred

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

• Good computer and document-processing ability
• Good diplomacy and people skills
• Detail-oriented
• Able to plan, prioritize and multi-task
• Self-motivated, able to work on projects alone
