This role will lead the Safety program in the South Plainfield, NJ warehouse. This position reports to our Regional Safety Manager, but works closely with the Plant Manager, Human Resources, and warehouse personnel to develop and deploy a wide-range of comprehensive Safety systems that support Triple S’ commitment of zero incidents.

• The Safety Coordinator manages Safety systems for the assigned area of responsibility. The successful incumbent will play a key leadership role in reducing the risk of incident and injury and will drive implementation of many Safety initiatives
• Lead the warehouse New Hire Safety Training as part of the New Hire Experience to ensure new hires are prepared to perform their new responsibilities safely.
• Lead the Safety training coordination and implementation for hourly employees, monitor, track, and report key Safety metrics, and ensures compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate regulatory programs.
• Assist with incident investigations to ensure completeness and accuracy, develop and track corrective actions, act as a change agent for the area, and lead multi-disciplinary teams to make process improvements and reduce risk of injury.
• Conduct and coordinate monthly safety inspections and employee safety awareness meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors' degree in Occupational Health & Safety
• Or equivalent experience in field

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

• Possess strong customer service and teamwork values, good verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with others
• Experience in steel/heavy industrial/manufacturing is preferred
