  • Overview

    This role will report to the division manager in Southern California and has hybrid responsibilities to include Product Management and Inside Sales Management along with responsibility for creating a burning department out of the Almeria facility.

    Responsibilities

    Product Management Responsibilities:

    • Develops and maintains relationships with vendors.
    • Executes purchase orders and expedites shipments.
    • Maintains inventory levels per company guidelines.
    • Develops and maintains relationships with customers.
    • Provides sales and technical expertise to the sales department.
    • Regularly reviews inventory for slow moving items and develops strategy to sell.
    • Promotes the product with other branches.
    • Determines pricing strategies and is responsible for profitability.
    • Finalizes any claims arising from the purchase or sale of material.

    Inside Sales Manager Responsibilities:

    • Manages insides sales staff and assistants.
    • Furthers company strategies and culture.
    • Responsible for professional development of the sales team.
    • Ensures the infrastructure and systems are sufficient to support sales efforts.
    • Responsible for achieving sales targets.
    • Provides regular feedback to the sales team along with yearly reviews of performance.
    • In conjunction with the division manager, determines commission programs for staff.
    • Working with outside sales manager to reassing accounts as necessary.
    • Helps manage key account relationships.
    • Travels as necessary.
    • Defines sales strategies to close day to day transactions.
    • Works with operations and administrative management to optimize sales efforts.
    • Responsible along with outside sales management for constant flow of new accounts.
    • Works with individual sales team members to solve customer complaints.
    • Provides pricing feedback to product managers.
    • Involved in credit issues as necessary.
    • Develops stocking programs/consignments for select customers.

    Almeria Plant Responsibilities

    • Physical set up at Almeria warehouse.
    • Determines equipment necessary and works with Houston to procure.
    • Staff and trains in conjunction wtih operations manager.
    • Responsible for sales, rem policies and profitability.
    • Provides sales and technical expertise to sales staff.
    • Responsible for acquisition and retention of customers.

     

    Qualifications

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelors degree in business or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Minimum 7 years experience in sales, operations, supply chain, and logistics.
    • Minimum 4 years supervisory/management experience.

     Knowledge & Skills:

    • Knowledge and understanding of distribution processes 
    • Demonstrated strong and effective communication skills; written, oral and interpersonal.
    • Demonstrated negotiation and/or facilitation ability.
    • Ability to multi-task, work independently and employ effective time management skills.
    • Strong PC and Microsoft Office skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills.
    • Proven track record of developing and implementing improvement program and processes.
